How Wildlane Works
A plain-language guide to the numbers in your fishing forecast.
Bite Score
The bite score is a 0 to 100 estimate of how favourable conditions look for fish to feed at a given time. Higher is better.
It combines tide movement, solunar timing, weather, pressure, and water clarity into one number. Each factor adds or subtracts from the score based on how strongly it affects feeding.
A high score means conditions line up well. It does not guarantee a catch.
Confidence Level
Confidence shows how complete, fresh, and reliable the forecast data is. It is separate from the bite score.
Missing, stale, or estimated inputs lower confidence. A forecast can have a high bite score but low confidence if some data was unavailable.
Forecast stability is shown alongside it. It tells you how much key weather conditions are changing, which can make the forecast less certain.
Weather Factors
Wind, cloud cover, rain, air temperature, and barometric pressure all affect how active fish are.
Steady pressure and light winds usually help feeding. Rapid pressure changes, heavy rain, and sudden temperature swings often slow fish down.
The hourly weather graph shows temperature and wind over the day so you can spot the calmest and most stable periods.
Tide Model
Tides move water, bring in food, and change where fish hold. Wildlane estimates the tide for each location and time.
Moving tides, especially the first and last hours of a tide change, are often more productive than slack water at high or low tide.
The tide graph shows when the water is rising or falling, and when the next high and low tides are due.
Solunar Model
The solunar model uses the position of the moon and sun to estimate periods of stronger feeding activity. These are called major and minor windows.
Major windows are around the moon's highest and lowest points in the sky. Minor windows are around moonrise and moonset.
The moon phase icon shows the current lunar cycle. The moonrise and moonset times show when the moon rises and sets at the location you selected. Solunar timing is one input to the bite score and carries less weight than tides and weather.
