Reading your first bite forecast
Use bite scores alongside tides, weather and local knowledge to compare fishing windows.

A forecast is a planning tool, not a promise of a catch. Start with your location and fishing style, then compare the conditions across the hours you could realistically fish.
Look for a window, not just a number
A bite score brings several signals together. Read it alongside the tide, wind and swell rather than treating the highest number as an instruction to head out.
- Choose a location you know you can access safely.
- Compare neighbouring hours for a useful fishing window.
- Check the underlying weather and tide information.
- Check local warnings, access restrictions and fishing regulations.
Keep a short trip record
Record when you fished, the conditions you observed and what happened. Over several trips, those notes can help you understand how your local water behaves.
Conditions can change quickly. If the weather or access looks unsafe, choose another location or another day.
